INTERNSHIP PROGRAM:

IP-1 at: The Sterling Agro Products Processing Pvt. Ltd. (SAPPL), Bangalore. Grade: A

IP-2 at: The Center for Plant Molecular Biology, Osmania University, Hyderabad. Grade: A

PROJECT DETAILS:

·    ‘Expression analysis of stress responsive genes of pigeonpea in Saccharomyces         cerevisiaeat The Center for Plant Molecular Biology, Osmania University.

The project aimed at studying different abiotic stresses and their cellular pathways. The study of drought stress is emphasized. The expression of drought responsive genes in yeast is studied and the analysis of the expression of two novel drought responsive genes of pigeonpea, induced by different stress conditions in Saccharomyces Cerevisiae is done. At the workshop program conducted at CPMB, I learnt DNA Isolation, RNA Isolation, Plasmid Isolation, Southern Hybridization, Analysis of recombinant clones and the expression of cloned genes, etc.

·    ‘Quality control in a Food Processing Industry’ at Sterling Agro Products Processing Private Limited (SAPPL).

The project emphasized the study of different preservative techniques used to preserve gherkins (tender cucumbers), baby corn, asparagus, etc. It included different quality control methods for checking the physical and chemical properties of the preservatives.

·    Training Program at The Icfai Institute of Science and Technology.

It involved the training in different instrumental methods like UV-Visible Spectrophotometer, IR- Spectrophotometer, Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer, High Voltage Electrophoresis (Gel Type), Gas Chromatography, High Performance Liquid Chromatography, Bioreactor (Bench-Top).

·    Training Program at The Global Hospitals.

Included the training in different techniques involved in Auto Immune and HLA tests. The various techniques learnt are PCR, ELISA, Immuno Fluorescence, DNA Extraction, etc.

·    Study Oriented Project on ‘Alzheimer’s Disease’ at The Icfai Institute of Science and Technology.

It involved the study of causes and symptoms, demographics, genetic basis, pathogenesis, clinical and genetic diagnosis, and the treatment of the disease.

·    Study Oriented Project on ‘Genetically Modified Plant Foods’ at The Icfai Institute of Science and Technology.

It aimed at studying the history of genetic modification, various methods used in transforming, transgenic plants, the controversies involved in the process and the important pathogen and parasitic resistant traits in different plant varieties.
