Description :This project is to scientifically verify the Antimicrobial activity of 5 selected ethnomedicinal plants that the tribes(IRULLAS) in the Nilgiries forest, Western Ghats(1 Hot Spot of the worlds 8 Hot Spots of Bio Diversity)used to cure Scabies. We explored the bioactive compounds responsible for the Antimicrobial activity of these selected 5 ethnomedicinal plants.

1. phytochemical screening for the presence of bio active compounds in 2 folklore medicinal plants named Aegle marmelos corr., and Datura stramonium L
