·    Analysis of Enzymatic and Chemical Leather processing at Central Leather Research Institute (CLRI), Chennai (2004) under the guidance of Dr.C.Muralidharan, Director, Tannery section, CLRI.

·    Influence of vessel material on survival of coliforms in stored water at the National Environmental Engineering Research Institute (NEERI), Chennai Zonal division, CSIR complex, Chennai (2005) under the guidance of Dr.Kamatchiammal, Scientist, NEERI, Chennai.

·    Role of Cord factor in virulence of M.tuberculosis at the Department of Biotechnology, Government College of Technology (GCT), Coimbatore, under the joint guidance of Dr. Muthukumaran Sivanandham, Prof & Head, Department of Biotechnology, GCT and Dr. Kuni Takayama, Department of Veterans affairs, Williamton. S. Veterans Hospital, Madison, Wisconsin, USA for a five month period involving Dec 2005 to Apr 2006.

·    Working presently as a Research Assistant in the Structural Biology Lab of Dr.Rajan Shankarnaryanan, Center for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB), Hyderabad, India. Working on the Wellcome Trust International supported project on elucidating the structural features of Polyketide synthases in M.tuberculosis.

 

INDUSTRIAL AND LABORATORY TRAINING

·    Underwent a one-week Industrial training program during the 23rd to 28th of May 2005 at the Southern Petrochemical Industries (SPIC), Biotechnology Division, Porur, Chennai on Commercial production of proteases and amylases.

·    Underwent two-day training on Techniques in Animal cell culture during 26-27th July 2004 at the Tamilnadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Department of Animal Bio technology, Chennai.

·    Recipient of SJ Jindal and TVS Societies’ scholarship.

·    An experienced Carnatic singer (Classical music of South India) and a violin player, having won many accolades at many Competitions.

·    Cleared the GRE and TOEFL examinations with a score of 1350 and 277 respectively.

·    Qualified the GATE 2005 with a All India percentile of 91.47 and an All India Rank of 559.
